Webster Tournament Rules

Rules

 

GENERAL RULES:

  • Four game guarantees (weather permitting).
  • Tournament games will begin Thursday for local teams and Friday for out of town teams.  Games can start as early as 9AM on Friday once school is out.
  • NFHS Rules  (60/90) and require BBCOR bat restrictions.
  • All teams must be prepared to play 30 minutes prior to scheduled start time.
  • Games will be 7 Innings with a 1:50 time limit.  Time limits are in effect for all games except the Championship final.  Tie games in pool play are rendered a tie unless time limit has not been reached. Extra inning in finals will start with a runner on 2b 
  • You may bat nine(9) or 10 using an EH and or/DH. You may also roster bat which includes free defensive substitution.  If you roster bat and a player becomes unavailable /unable for any reasons, the spot in the order will be an automatic out (unless other teams coach agrees to skip over that batted position.
  • Mercy rule will be 15 runs after 3, 10 runs after 4 innings and 8 runs after 5 innings.
  • Mercy rule is in effect for ALL games.
  • Flip for home team. The higher seed will be home during championship round.
  • Baseballs will be provided.
  • Base runner must slide or attempt to avoid contact.
  • Any player, coach or fan ejected from a game will be suspended from the following game.  It is the head coaches responsibility to control his team and fans.
  • The umpires are in charge of the game. Arguing and abuse will not be tolerated. The umpires decision on any judgement call is final. 
  • Catcher/pitcher speed up can occur anytime with the catcher/pitcher on base.  The courtesy runner must be someone not in the game or the last out.


PITCHING RESTRICTIONS:

  • Coaches’ discretion 

Tie Breaker Rules

  • Overall record (winning percentage) 
  • Head-to-Head. (Null-voided when 3 or more teams are tied in standings) 
  • Total runs allowed in regulation games. 
  • Total runs scored in regulation games. 
  • Coinflip


FIELD RULES

  • GAMES THAT ARE PLAYED ON THE TURF.  THERE ARE NO SUNFLOWER SEEDS OR GUM ALLOWED.  ALL FIELDS WILL BE CHECKED AFTER YOUR GAME AND IF ANY SEEDS OR GUM ARE FOUND THE TEAM WILL HAVE TO  PAY A $250 FEE TO HAVE THE FIELD CLEANED, AND WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PLAY THERE NEXT GAME UNTIL FINE HAS BEEN PAID.
